CAD Landscape Graphics

Layer by layer, your CAD landscape graphics begin to take shape. Subtle distinctions in the character of each line help define the elements in your design and lend depth to your rendering.

Hardscape Layers

Each hardscape graphic has a specific line. Walls are hatched, steps are defined with a heavy riser edge, paving elements are thinner, boulders are filled with a stipple, and contour lines slip into the background.

Plant Layers

Tree symbols are defined by their heavy edge. A light branching structure permits visibility to design elements below. Shadows give the trees volume.

Palm trees vary in weight, geometry, and rotation. Transparent, circular centers help define the trees and allow the design elements below to be visible.

Shrub symbols are simple but distinct. Accent plants are more detailed. Intersecting shrubs are grouped.

Groundcover hatching is light, but dense. Small bold circles define the individual plants. Hatching varies for different species.

Label and Lighting Layers

Each plant species has a unique 2 or 3 letter identifying tag, matched to the plant schedule key. Trees, shrubs, and groundcover each have a different-sized tag, to help match the plant with its tag.

All lights are identified by an equal-sized circlular outline. The symbols are bold enough to be visible amid the mesh of surrounding elements.

Design notes (not visible) are pulled to the perimeter of the drawing with thin, unobtrusive arrows.
